MSU Health Care Transitions to New Patient Portal

January 30, 2026

MSU Health Care has transitioned to Henry Ford Health’s electronic health record and billing system, including a new patient portal. This upgrade is part of a broader partnership between Michigan State University and Henry Ford Health, designed to expand access to care through enhanced services, advanced technology, and nationally recognized clinical expertise.

As of January 31, 2026, the new MSU Health Care/Henry Ford MyChart patient portal has replaced the Athena Health patient portal. Patients now use MyChart to:

  • Schedule appointments
  • View test results
  • Request prescription refills
  • Send messages to their care team
  • View and pay medical bills

Patients who do not yet have an MSU Health Care/Henry Ford MyChart account are encouraged to sign up by following the instructions on the MSU Health Care patient portal.

Patients who received care from MSU Health Care prior to January 31, 2026, should view and pay bills for those services through the Athena Health patient portal. All patients should refer to their billing statements for specific payment options and instructions.
