MSU Health Care Partners with Henry Ford Health to Enhance Patient Care

MSU Health Care is partnering with Henry Ford Health, one of the Midwest’s most respected and innovative health systems, to strengthen the quality of care we deliver to you and our community. This partnership expands the care you rely on by providing access to enhanced services, advanced technology, and nationally recognized expertise.

What’s changing?

MSU Health Care will move to Henry Ford Health’s electronic health record and billing systems (Epic) on January 31, 2026. This will include a new patient portal experience to help manage your care.

• MyChart replaces Athena Health: Our current Athena Health patient portal will be replaced with MSU Health Care/Henry Ford MyChart.
• Your health information moves with you: Important medical information such as medications, allergies and immunizations will transfer to Epic/MyChart.
• Billing updates: Beginning January 31, billing statements for new services will come from Henry Ford Health. MyChart will offer payment options, updated payment plans, and service estimates.
• Access to prior records: The Athena Health patient portal will remain available to view information and pay for services received before January 31.
• MyChart activation: You can activate your MyChart account starting January 31 and pay for services received on or after January 31 through MyChart.

What’s not changing?

Your care team remains the same. Our physicians, clinicians, and staff continue to be proudly Spartan, committed to providing the compassionate, high-quality care you expect. We will also continue working with local hospitals and provider partners to ensure you receive the best care close to home.
